Awesome Beatport Pro App Released!

Usually, I don’t get overly excited when it comes to software updates taking into consideration that it is about an online music store. But the new #BeatportPro app for the Mac is simply to great to neglect!

These are the features in a nutshell:

  • Include Tags in Native Instruments Traktor
  • Store Dual Key Data for Each Track
  • Two Ways to Rate Your Track
  • Increase Efficiency with Pre-set Filters

Still doesn’t sound great?
Well, seems to be like another of those feature list. But with lots of immense power behind it! Continue reading “Awesome Beatport Pro App Released!”

Ableton Live 9 announced!

… or the news I have been anxiously waiting for months. I’m using Live as my only sequencer since its inception for more than a decade now.

What’s new in a nutshell:

  • 3 editions (Intro, Standard, Suite – incl Max for Live)
  • Revamped browser
  • Record automation into clips (even with curves)
  • New sound packs & instrument racks (50GB for the Suite)
  • New and revamped plug-ins (also for Max for Live)
  • Convert audio to MIDI (e.g. sing and record a melody convert it to MIDI and assign the clip to a synth…)
  • Powerful MIDI manipulation tools

Get yourself excited here: and more over the ultra-cool must-have hardware controller Ableton Push: I am eager to give it a try as soon as I get my hands on it!

What am I missing from the announcement and will hopefully be included, too:

  • better graphical overview of recorded automations in a single track
  • tools for multi-track comping (e.g. vocals)
  • multi-user or multiple devices support (LAN or WAN-based)
  • multi-monitor support (arranger and session view)
  • layered sound editing
  • integrated Melodyne pitch correction

And one rather visionary wish:

  • fully compatible to run on vSphere as a standalone software product with its own micro OS
